SEEDING
1. Team schedules must be in the possession of the Section V League Chairman by Monday, Sept 19, 2011 . This includes all league/non-league games that are to be counted for seeding. These should then be forwarded to the Section V Coordinator.
2. The date for seeding announcements will be Saturday, October 22rd.
This
meeting is open to all league coordinators and other designated officials.
All
results announced at this meeting are FINAL.
3. League coordinators are responsible for keeping a weekly running account of the seeding points of each team in his league. Independent schools have their own coordinator to whom they are responsible.
4. The Boys’ Soccer Committee uses a positive points only seeding system.
A point per game average will be used to determine tournament qualification and seed position.
The total positive points earned will be divided by the number of games played.
The minimum divisor will be fourteen (14).
NOTE:
Seeding point averages are rounded off to hundredths for publication only!!
5. The final date for playing games which will count for seeding will be Friday, October 21st.
6. If qualifying teams are tied for seeding point average at the final seeding meeting, the following criteria will be used to determine the seed:
A. The team with the most wins will be the higher seed.
B. The team with the fewest loses will be the higher seed.
C. Head to head competition.
D. The team with the highest winning percentage of games played will be the higher seed. (Determine by wins/total games played)
E. The team with the highest win/loss ratio will be the higher seed.
F. The team that has played the greatest number of games will be the higher seed.
G. The toss of a coin will determine the higher seed.
7. Leagues
or schools failing to report seeding points to the seeding coordinator
by midnight, October 21st, will lose home field advantage throughout the tournament.
